? THE Hunter Medical Research Institute hopes to build a $90 million research building at John Hunter Hospital, with its existing accommodation in the CBD's David Madison building set to be demolished by 2012.

As reported in The Herald on Monday, the institute had been hoping for $35 million in Federal Government funding to complete the project. No funds were made available in this year's budget.
