ALL the good news about increased visitation over summer has generated plenty of excitement.
While many operators have reported a 20 to 30 per cent increase in business in recent months, Tourism Wollongong chairman Jim Eddy said the dramatic increase in accommodation this year would present new challenges. He said the willingness of existing operators to invest in advertising had combined with Tourism Wollongong's effective Grand Pacific Drive campaign. But new operators would also need aggressive marketing if they were going to be absorbed into the tourism industry.
